From Darkness Into Light shortlisted for 2020 Gramophone Award

We were thrilled to discover that From Darkness Into Light | Antoine Brumel: The Complete Lamentations of Jeremiah has been shortlisted for the Gramophone Awards 2020.

The disc is one of six nominated for the Early Music category and Musica Secreta is the only British group represented in this category. Congratulations to Musica Secreta and their director Laurie Stras!

In his review for Gramophone, critic Edward Breen wrote: “It’s warm, nimble and compelling throughout. As so often with Musica Secreta, the meeting of inspired musicology with passionate and committed performance generates something way beyond the sum of its parts.”
